BAM promise no more setbacks

MALAYSIA gave an assurance that there will not be any more hiccups in their hosting of the Thomas-Uber Cup Finals at the Putra Stadium in Bukit Jalil.
On Tuesday, the stadium roof leaked during a heavy downpour and one of the host broadcasters' rooms was damaged.
The Badminton Association of Malaysia (BAM) general manager, Kenny Goh, said yesterday that the stadium board had given an assurance to get the leaking roof fixed quickly.
“We have approached them and they said that they would look into the matter to ensure the smooth running of the championships. As organisers, we will do our best to host the Thomas-Uber Cup Finals without any more setbacks,” he said.
Meanwhile, team manager Datuk Sayed Abu Bakar Abdullah said that all the players in both the 10-member Thomas and Uber Cup squads turned up for training yesterday.
“It is all well at the national training camp. No one is sick and there are no worries,” he said.
As for coach Misbun Sidek, he is still in hospital.
“Only Misbun's son, Misbun Ramdan, is confirmed with the H1N1 virus,” said Jalani Sidek, Misbun's younger brother.
“Misbun, his wife and another child are still waiting for the outcome of their tests.”
