A FEW days away from the national team have been difficult for singles coach Misbun Sidek.
He has rejoined the team and is happy to see a stronger bond among the players.
“I was not around just for a few days but the team have stuck together like a family. Sometimes, adversities do bring people together,” he said.
Misbun was admitted to hospital for high fever but he was cleared from contracting the H1N1 virus.
He said that he had a premonition that something good was set to happen for Malaysia in the Thomas Cup Finals.
“I have been following the team for a long time in competitions. There is something different this time,” he said. “They are really determined to do well at home. Hopefully, they will be able to rise to the occasion.”
After assessing China, Denmark and Indonesia following their first -day displays yesterday, Misbun believed that Malaysia were in with the chance to go far in the Finals.
“It will be close this time. If our players can take their chances well, they can pull it off. Let's hope for the best.”
