Yong-dae back in the groove

PETALING JAYA: South Korean Lee Yong-dae showed he is back in the groove after winning the Taiwan Open men’s doubles title in Taipeh yesterday.
The 21-year-old Yong-dae and his partner, Jung Jae-sung, defeated compatriots Cho Gun-woo-Kwon Yi-goo 21-10, 21-16 in a 27-minute final.
The win showed that Yong-dae is no longer bothered by an elbow injury. He took time off to recover from the injury after the Swiss Open in March while Jae-sung tried his luck with other partners.
The duo finally made a comeback at the Macau Open last week but was beaten in the opening round.
The win yesterday is timely for Yong-dae-Jae-sung ahead of the world championships, which will be held in Paris from Aug 23-29.
They were the runners-up at the last two editions and this time, they will be out to get it right.
Indonesia enjoyed a good day when Simon Santoso and Hendra Gunawan-Vita Marissa emerged as the men’s singles and mixed doubles champions.
