Julia hampered by second operation

KUALA LUMPUR: Shuttler Julia Wong (pic) will have to take a longer time to make a comeback to competition after going through a second knee surgery on Friday.
Julia first underwent surgery on the injury suffered during the Sudirman Cup world mixed team championships in Guangzhou in May, but last week she was rushed to the hospital after the same area was infected.
With that, Julia may find the going even tougher to make a comeback to represent Malaysia in the Uber Cup Finals next year.
“I was going through rehabilitation and everything seemed to be progressing well until the old wound was infected,” said Julia.
“I am still hoping to get back on my feet to represent Malaysia in the Uber Cup. This goal will keep me going.”
