KUALA LUMPUR: Doubles shuttler Chin Eei Hui’s (pic) days of partnering different young player are coming to an end.
And
before resuming her partnership with Wong Pei Tty, she is determined to
achieve her best results with Goh Liu Ying in the Malaysia Open.
Eei Hui-Liu Ying are unseeded and they will take on South Koreans Ha Jung-eun-Kim Min-jung in the first round on Wednesday.
“This
will be my fourth and last outing with Liu Ying in an international
tournament. Hopefully, we will be able to achieve a breakthrough,” said
Eei Hui.
“But more than the results, I hope Liu Ying has learnt
as much as possible by playing alongside me over the last few months.
She has certainly improved.”
In the absence of Pei Tty, Eei Hui had also been teamed up with Lai Pei Jing and Woon Khe Wei.
After
the Malaysia Open, Eei Hui will skip tournaments before she teams up
with Pei Tty after a lapse of almost a year for the Australia Open in
April.
Pei Tty, who was put out of action after undergoing a knee surgery, resumed training last month.
“Pei
Tty has been progressing well in training. The Australia Open will be a
good platform for us to touch base and test our combination,” said Eei
Hui.
“I will not be competing in the South Korea Open (next week)
and the All-England (in March) because I will be spending more time
with Pei Tty in training.”
Due to the long absence of the pair
from international tournaments, Eei Hui-Pei Tty, who were ranked at No.
5, have dropped to 30th in the world ranking list.
And they need to work their way back to get among the top 16 to ensure a ticket to the London Olympics next year.
