BIMANTARA CUP 2010: Easy for big guns, Mexicans crash out

The world´s  best badminton players showed their power in the afternoon round of the  BWF World Junior Championship for the Bimantara Cup at the CODE Dome in  Gadalajara, Mexico.
In women’s singles, World Champion  Ratchanok Inthanon defeated Mexico’s Andrea Guerrero 21-12 and 21-13 who  could not raise her game despite the strong home support.Another  female athlete who also delivered, albeit in nervous fashion, was  China’s Deng Xuang, the No 2 seed. The Chinese beat Russia’s Maria  Korobeyinikova in straight games 21-3 and 21-9. 

Thailand’s  Sapsiree Taerattanachai, third seeded, beat Germany’s Isabel Herttrich  16-21 and 11-21 while Sonia Cheah of Maysia also progressed to the  second round thanks to her 21-8, 21-4 win over another German girl –  Kira Kattenbeck.
It wasn’t  all bad news for Germany as Fabienne Perez, who is the No 5-8 seed,  defeated Singapore’s Hui Ming Cheong de Sing.
Tzu Ying  Tai from Chinese Taipei also continued her impressive form from the team  event to beat Thamar Peters from the Netherlands by a broad difference  in the first game with a score of 21-8 and even though Thamar tried to  do better, the second game ended 21-16 in favour of the Chinese Taipei  player.
In men’s  singles, Malaysia’s Loh Wei Sheng, the No 2 seed, defeated Jamaica’s  Dennis Coke 10-21 and 11-21 in 20 minutes.
There were  some surprise results in the men’s singles with England’s Penty Toby and  Europe’s top junior Kasper Lehikoinen from Finland shown the exit.
Lehikoinen,  the No 5-8th seed, was beaten by Turkey’s Emre Lale 21-12,  21-15 while Toby fell to a 21-12, 21-18 defeat to South Korea’s Kang Ji  Wook.
In the  individual tournament, the top juniors are competing for tickets to the  inaugural Youth Olympic Games in Singapore in August this year.
Top seed  Huauh Yuxian of China progressed comfortably after defeating Germany’s  Peter Lang, Mexico’s Job Castillo, Andres Lopez and Alan Sanchez  finished their run after being eliminated in the first round.
The  superiority of Mexico’s rival, Turkish player Ozturk Ramanzan, was  clearly seen at the CODE Dome as he defeated Job Castillo 21-16 and  21-16.
The second  match for Mexico wasn’t all that different as South Korea dominated the  encounter starting at the very beginning of the game.  This  way, South Korea’s Kang Ji Wook defeated Andres Lopez in two identical  sets of 21-13.
In other  confrontations for the Mexican selection, Luis Trejo was defeated by  South Africa’s Prakash Vajayanath in three games with a score of 21-19,  11-21, and 21-12.  Likewise, Alan Sanchez lost to  Germany’s Max Schwenger 21-7 and 21-9.
The fifth  match in the morning for Mexico was played between Cynthia Gonzalez and  Singapore’s Woon Emily Chua, who won in two games - 15-21 and 26-28.
