SUHANDINATA CUP 2010: Asian teams dominate Day 2

The Asian powerhouses made it clear why they are the favorites to win the BWF World Junior Championships by showing their best skills on the second day of competition for the Suhandinata Cup.
China started off their series of victories against France in the mixed doubles category, defeating their rivals, who were a little on edge and consequently lost in straight games 22/20 and 21/13.

The next two points in the tie were played in the men’s and women’s singles, where Chinese players Yuxiang Huang and Di Suo showed their superior play to beat Lucas Claerbout and Lauren Meheust respectively. WJC2010-SC-mexico

There was little the French representation could do to fend off the strong attack and solid defense by the Chinese team. Although the pair of Lucas Corvee- Joris Grosjean fought gallantly to defeat Li Gen-Song Ziwei, the outcome was a foregone conclusion with China triumphant 4-1.

 In the tie between Japan and Germany, Japan emerged victorious with a similar 4-1 win with only the women’s pair of Hiroki Takeuchi-Kanako Konishi dropping a point for the Asians.

Indonesia also blanked Canada 5-0 whiwhile Chinese Taipei defeated England 3-2.

In a later tie, Malaysia stayed on track to qualify for the final when they overpowered Singapore 5-0 at the CODE Dome.
At 12PM, the confrontation got started with the women´s singles match, where Malaysia took the victory 2-0 (21-7 and 21-10).
The Danes brought some cheer to the European contingent when they showed great determination and spirit to down India 3-2 despite the fact India was ahead in the first two matches.
In other ties Thailand overpowered the Netherlands 4-1 while South Korea dominated Hong Kong 5-0.
