PROTON-BWF THOMAS & UBER CUP 2010 FINALS: India-Australia to battle for last Thomas Cup spot

Fifteen of the 16 quarter-finalists for the Thomas and Uber Cup competitions have been confirmed with the only remaining ticket to be decided when India face Australia in a Thomas Cup Group D match tomorrow.
Indonesia, who is the only seeded team to have played consecutive group matches, top Group D after beating Australia 5-0 and India 4-1 respectively, leaving a winner-takes-all clash between the two defeated teams.

Tomorrow, in Group A, China and South Korea face off to decide the group champion, Malaysia and Japan meet to see who top Group B while Denmark and Germany square off to decide the Group C winners. UC-D2-saina

In the Uber Cup, all eight quarter-finalists have been sorted out with the qualified teams playing each other to decide the group champions. The draw for the quarter-finals will be made after the last tie ends on Tuesday.

In Group A, China and Malaysia, progressed after both teams beat three-time champions United States of America 5-0. In Group B Indonesia and Denmark booked their seats to the last eight after beating Australia 5-0 and 3-2 respectively.

In Group C, Japan and Russia are through after both beat Germany 4-1 while India and South Korea square off after blanking South Africa 5-0 in Group D.
