Juara Stadium may house BAM hi-tech centre

KUALA LUMPUR: A new home of the Badminton Association of Malaysia
(BAM) may remain at the Juara Stadium in Bukit Kiara here after all.
The BAM are now looking for a venue to house their multi-million
high-tech national training centre after a plan to build it on an
eight-acre land at Cochrane Road in Cheras failed to take off.
The
Sports Ministry have asked the BAM to look into having it at Labu in
Negri Sembilan but it is unlikely to receive favourable response.
If
all fails, the best option for the BAM is to house their training
centre in Bukit Kiara where the players are currently training and
staying.
The place, after all, already has good facilities and
there are many rooms and office space that are not being fully utilised.
With some renovation and restructuring, the government can certainly
make the current training centre there as the country’s premier
